When Dave Beaty started the process to design pickups he decided his first step should be to understand how current pickup technology had evolved. Before making anything, Dave and his team researched in great detail the people that shaped the evolution of pickups and gained an understanding of their work. They examined many documents and old pickups made by some of the pioneers of pickup development and gained an understanding of the methods they used to manufacture them. In carrying out this work they rediscovered pickup manufacturing techniques that had been lost in time and made some new discoveries that have helped shape the new range.

Telonics has a great deal of knowledge in designing radio frequency circuitry and producing highly accurate and identical wound coils with identical characteristics. Drawing from this knowledge they have developed a pickup manufacturing technique that guarantees each unit will have the same great sound as identified in the testing process.

The complete range:

Types 34, 84 and 206 are 10 string pickups. Types 128, 151 and 183 are 12 string pickups.

Types 178, 186 and 187 are special order pickups.
